Pollutants can still be found in numerous objects and buildings today and are often found as contaminated sites from previous decades. Asbestos is one of the best-known building materials. Many buildings constructed in the 1960s and 1970s still have cladding or insulating walls made of this building material. KMF (artificial mineral fibers) and PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) also make professional remediation of affected buildings necessary. As a specialist company in the field of pollutant remediation, we will be happy to help you with the remediation of your contaminated facilities or buildings.

Asbestos removal
Asbestos refers to a group of mineral fibers that used to be used for fire protection thanks to its unique properties. The use of all types of asbestos has been banned in Germany since 1993. There is a risk of exposure to asbestos-containing dust from installed asbestos-containing products, which mainly occurs during demolition, renovation and maintenance work. The very fine fibrous dust produced when asbestos fibers are split or broken can penetrate the alveoli of the lungs when inhaled. People who have inhaled this asbestos-containing dust are at very high risk of developing asbestosis. This disease can permanently impair breathing and, in the worst case, lead to death.
Nowadays, high protective measures and organizational requirements are needed to remove asbestos and asbestos-containing products from buildings. Asbestos is only disposed of at special landfill sites with the appropriate approval.

KMF remediation
KMF (artificial mineral fibers) is the collective term for artificially produced mineral fibers with different compositions and sizes. These were used for heat, cold, sound and fire protection insulation in buildings, ships and industrial plants. Due to carcinogenic substances that can enter the body through the respiratory tract, KMF products have been banned. However, during demolition, dismantling and conversion work, we unfortunately still come across CMF products in many buildings today.

PAH remediation
In many old buildings, tar adhesive was used to glue floors or separating systems in the form of tar paper were used under the floor or screed. These building materials contain PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). These PAHs are organic compounds that have been proven to cause cancer

- Fillers and putties containing asbestos, e.g. joint sealants, window putty
- Paints containing asbestos, e.g. fire protection paint
- Fire protection coatings containing asbestos, e.g. sprayed asbestos
- Fabrics and cords containing asbestos, e.g. seals
- Asbestos cardboard and paper, e.g. wallpaper, barrier cardboard
- Packing and insulation containing asbestos, e.g. heating pipes, wall ducts
